For Who?

Anyone who already has a hamster, pet mouse or guinea pig or plans to give one a home is invited to attend. Hands on instruction will be provided. This is an in person class so must live in Tucson, AZ or Surrounding cities. Future classes through zoom may be offered.

What: 

2 classes are planned: Hamster and Pet Mice care is covered in the first class and Guinea Pig care and keeping is in the 2nd. Preferred class will need to be specified in advance. Each class follows the same format which is:   

     * Rescue tour and introduction

     * Discussion 

     * Hands on learning

     * Question and answer session

     * Closing

 

Class fee is $30 per person. Space is limited to 5 people per class.

All class materials and snacks/drinks will be provided.

A registration form for each attendee is required. Open to ages 6 and older, but children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class. 

Note: hamsters and mice are nocturnal so we won't be waking them up, just their cages will be focused on, and one might pop out while I am teaching but no guarantee; Guinea pigs in the rescue will be part of the hands-on learning and care demonstrations.

When:

Every Saturday: Time slots are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The option to arrange an alternative class during the week is available.

 

Where:

At Home Sweet Hammy Home Rescue, Tucson, Arizona. Address will be provided after registration form is received.

Why:

To provide care knowledge due to an increasing need in our community because pet stores and breeders are selling hundreds of hamsters, mice and guinea pigs daily to people who don't know what to do with them or how to care for them.

How to Sign Up:

Send an Email Here specifying your preference, hamster and mouse class or guinea pig class and which Saturday time slot you are interested in. Because this class is something new being offered, right now there is open availability; when classes become full more information will be added below. Payment instructions will be given when email is received.
